Life is a Circus

Well you would think since I am unemployed I could find more time to update my blog. However, things have been crazy. I have had a cold and we are staying busy with projects around the house and trying to find fun things to do around town. I am trying to get in the swing of being a stay at home mom. However, I am still looking for a job (a long with half of America).
As you may be able to tell from our pictures John and I took the girls to the Circus on Saturday. We had a great time. The girls seemed to enjoy it. Riley was a little scared at first, but really enjoyed it. Lyla likes to go anywhere as long as she knows I (my breasts) are close by. She is very clingy much more so than Riley ever was.
Riley just finished her first round of swimming lessons and is doing well with them. She is also still loving dance class and Kindermusik. Lyla is starting to eat some solid baby foods. Although she seems to get gas from everything I eat or anything she eats. She also started Kindermusik last week and loves it. Her hair is all falling out and starting to come back blond just like her sister did at this age. I think she is also trying to get some teeth but nothing has popped through those gums yet.
I am sure I am leaving out tons of details about our lives but I am a bit tired and ready go to bed. This week my Aunt "Honey" is having her pacemaker replaced, so pray for her. My mother in law is running the half marathon this week so we will be cheering for her. We are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest Setzer and hoping the baby will turn on his/her own sometime this week. I will try to up date more often. :) I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Prayer Requests

There are a few people in my life that need to be lifted up in prayer at the moment.
Garrett Sheehan, is a 6 year old boy who is a friend of my mother's. He is currently losing his battle with cancer. Also, his parents who I can not even imagine being in their shoes.
Curtis Setzer, John's uncle who this week learned he has more cancer spots on his liver, and is currently in Philadelphia under going intense Chemo.
Dennis Setzer, John's Dad who just went via ambulance to the ER because his heart is in atrieal fib.

I pray that the Lord can place his healing hands on all three of these people, and ease any pain and suffering that they may be going through. Also, I pray that you can be with their families and give them the strength to get through these illnesses. May God bless you all.

2009 !?!?!

Ah where did 2008 go. We have had a such a busy couple of weeks during the holidays. Let me do a quick recap. John's family came which consist of 18 of us (10 adults, 8 kids, 5 dogs, and a baby on the way) (not me:) My mom also came down. During this time we managed to have Christmas, Lyla's baptism, a baby shower for Maria, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Family Pictures on the beach, Trip to the movies, Nana's birthday and much much more. This is a far cry from the Christmas' I had growing up as an only child.
Riley had a blast through out the holidays with all her cousins and Santa coming, not to mention an endless supply of gifts and candy. She also managed to give up her pacifyer which was a big deal for her. We packed them all up in a large zip lock baggy and left them with the milk and cookies for Santa. Santa took them to little babies who need them. Needless to say Christmas eve she did not go to bed until 1am because she was missing her pacifyer. It was like she was quitting crack here is a conversation we had one night:
Riley: Mom-go get me a passy
Wendy: No honey we gave them all to Santa
Riley: Mom go get me a dirty passy, a yucky passy, go get me Lyla's passy....anything mom I need my passy.
Poor kid it was tough but we made it, despite a small relapse yesterday when I found her napping in Tarheel's bed with an old passy she had found under my bed. Ooops.
Lyla is doing great. I swear she is getting bigger by the minute. She had a great Christmas. She was baptised Christmas morning by her grandfather, Pastor Dennis Setzer. It was so cute she kept trying to put her hand in his mouth as he was going through the ceremony. She was perfect, and everyone at the church was so excited to see a baptism on Christmas morning.
Now we are just trying to get back in a normal routine. I am still looking for a job, John is working his butt off. Riley and Lyla are loving having me home and I am enjoying them!
Here is wishing all of you bigger and better things in 2009!
